Spring Storm on the farm is a most magical sight. The wind, the rain, the sleet, the wind assault all the senses. But, nature is resilient and she stands her ground.
It invites you to explore the boundaries between heaven and earth.

A foggy warm blanket hovers on the pond. Cattails still, awaiting the next assault of mother nature.
Birdsong reverberates through the pine forest and reaches me on our morning walk.
I stumble clumsily along the path in my borrowed, oversized, green rubber boots.

No sign of the wild black dog today.
He’s out there no doubt, easily hidden in the shrub and shrouded by the heavy fog just like the barn cats.

“The lover of nature is he whose inward and outward senses are still truly adjusted to each other; who has retained the spirit of infancy even into the era of manhood.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nature

oh the joy of being a muskrat on the pond today,
welcoming the first warm day of spring, lazily swimming across the pond of his existence.
I join him with my lazy backstroke of breath and ponder what else may transpire today.
I am determined simply to get to the other side of life.

This spring storm, on the farm:
I await you with a cup of coffee, looking out on this cold spring day.
May the spring equinox and new moon bring you the best of spring beginnings.
